my knees are clasping together

like two silver spoons held by the strongest of hands

yet the wrists as weak as me.

i am trembling across

an ocean of happiness

that i cannot seem to baptize myself in.

everynight

i am visited by the insomnia

that grips my fingers together.

it keeps my red weary eyes open

and forces me to befriend the moon

all throughout the darken hours.

i am being held hostage

in my own home,

i am being held hostage

in my own head.

and that is why

i stare into space until my eyes become dry

and i fall onto the empty side

of the bed,

since the other side

is occupied by what you may define as

sadness.
